The honest answer is that it depends on the garden — but here is how Ruth's fees are structured, so you can walk into a consultation knowing roughly where you stand rather than guessing. Design, planting and any build are priced separately, on purpose, so you always see where the money goes.
90-minute consultation
£125 (deducted from a design)
The lowest-commitment way to start. Ruth spends ninety minutes on site giving honest, practical direction. If you go on to a full design, the £125 comes straight off your design fee — so the advice effectively becomes free.
Full garden design
From £1,295
The measured survey and scaled concept design for the whole garden — layout, borders, levels and structure resolved on paper before anything is built. The starting figure reflects a straightforward plot; larger or more complex gardens are quoted individually.
Planting: design, supply & install
Quoted separately
Priced on its own once the design is agreed, driven by the size of the borders and the plants chosen. Keeping it separate means you can see exactly what the planting costs and phase it if you'd like to.
Landscaping & build
Landscaper quote, co-ordinated by Ruth
Where a garden needs patios, paths or levels, Ruth introduces a trusted landscaper and co-ordinates the work. The build is quoted by the landscaper against Ruth's drawings, so it's costed accurately from a real plan rather than a guess.
