Our work
The gardens speak for Ruth.
Every photograph here is a real garden designed and planted by Down to Earth Gardens, from the studio's own Google profile — grouped by the kind of garden so you can find something like yours.
New-Build Gardens

A blank new-build plot resolved into a curved lawn wrapped by planted beds, a sculpture and pots — designed to be lived in from the house out.

Structured shrub borders and clipped hedging framing a new lawn and terrace — the ‘bare patch of turf’ given form and privacy.

A tricky new-build corner softened with a gravel-set bed of grasses and perennials against the brick and dark cladding.
Planting & Borders

A mixed border of alliums, salvias and grasses curving toward a stone water sculpture — colour and movement designed for the whole season.

Purple alliums rising through a front-garden border against warm brick — the planting that left one client with ‘the most beautiful front garden’.

A shaded corner bed rebuilt around a mature tree and a stone figure, underplanted with grasses and low perennials for year-round texture.
Structure & Landscaping

New sandstone paving curving away from freshly planted borders beneath black feather-edge fencing — landscaping co-ordinated to Ruth's design.

A formal box parterre mid-build, set out from the scaled concept — the geometry of a design taking shape before it fills in.

From the Google reviews
“From a bare patch of turf she really listened to what we wanted and came up with a lovely organic design… we're delighted with our new garden.”
